Terms of sale
1. Seller and scope
The seller is Koste Group SA, c/o AFI-Partner SA, Rue de la Dent-Blanche 20, 1950 Sion, Switzerland, UID CHE-110.580.717, of which Koste Editions is a brand. Contact: [email protected]
These terms apply to sales concluded on koste-editions.com. Purchases from the retailers the site links to are governed by those retailers' terms. Bookstore orders sent by email are handled separately.
2. Products
The site sells The Verdict by Phil Steinberg, in the language chosen when ordering (French, Italian, English or Portuguese):
- the digital PDF, one copy personalised in the buyer's name;
- the pack of 5 digital copies to give away, in the form of links to share.
3. Personalisation
Each PDF is generated for its recipient: the name, email address, date and order number appear as a watermark, and a personal line is printed on page 2. The pages are converted to images, so the text cannot be selected.
4. Ordering
Ordering requires an account, created with an email address or through Google or Facebook. After choosing the language, the customer is taken to Stripe's payment page. The contract is concluded when payment is confirmed.
These terms can be consulted at any time on this page. The customer accepts them by ticking the box provided before payment. They do not deprive the customer of any mandatory right.
5. Prices and taxes
Prices are shown in euros on the site. The displayed price includes all taxes, calculated by Stripe according to the buyer's location. The total amount payable appears on the payment page before it is confirmed. The applicable price is the one on the payment page at the time of ordering.
6. Payment
Payment is processed by Stripe, using the methods offered on its payment page. Koste Group SA does not receive card numbers. A receipt is sent to the email address of the order.
7. Digital delivery
Once payment is confirmed, the PDF is generated and a download link is sent by email. The PDF can also be reached from the buyer's account area. The download link is valid for 90 days from purchase.
For a pack, the buyer receives 5 links, by email and in the account area. Each link works once and one person can claim only one copy per pack. The recipient signs in or creates an account, then receives a personalised copy showing the buyer's name.
This site does not ship printed copies.
8. Right of withdrawal
Consumers residing in the European Union: you may withdraw without giving a reason within 14 days of the conclusion of the contract. For digital content, this right ends only if the consumer has expressly consented to immediate performance and acknowledged losing the right. Before payment, you expressly request immediate access to the PDF and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once delivery begins, that is, once the download link is sent. Until delivery begins, this right remains intact. Orders placed without this consent keep the 14-day right of withdrawal.
To exercise it, use the page Withdraw from contract here before the period ends, or send a clear statement to [email protected] with your order number. You receive an acknowledgement by email. You may also use the model withdrawal form provided by EU law, but you do not have to. The amount paid is refunded without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your statement, using the payment method you used, unless agreed otherwise. You then stop using the PDF and do not make it available to third parties.
Other customers: Swiss law provides no general right of withdrawal for online purchases, and these terms do not add one. Mandatory rights of the consumer's country of residence are reserved.
9. Complaints and statutory guarantees
Any complaint, in particular a file that was not received, cannot be read or does not conform, should be sent to [email protected] with the order number. Mandatory statutory guarantees apply.
10. Intellectual property
The book remains protected by copyright. Purchase grants a right of personal use of the copy. Reproduction, distribution, resale and removal of the watermark are prohibited without written permission. The watermark identifies the copy and its recipient.
11. Liability
The book is an account and analysis by its author. It is neither legal nor financial advice. Koste Group SA's liability is governed by the applicable law. The customer has the hardware and software needed to read a PDF.
12. Personal data
Data processing is described in the privacy policy.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding the Vienna Convention on the International Sale of Goods. This choice does not deprive a consumer residing in the European Union of the mandatory protective provisions of their country of habitual residence.
The place of jurisdiction is Sion (Valais, Switzerland). Consumers keep the places of jurisdiction guaranteed to them by law, in particular that of their domicile.
